AMD Ryzen – Dell has quietly launched the highly anticipated Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 in India, Priced at Rs 1,49,990

Earlier this year, Dell announced the launch of its highly anticipated Alienware m15 Ryzen-Edition gaming laptop globally. It’s the company’s first Ryzen-powered gaming laptop in over a decade, so naturally, there was some hype around it. While we’ve been patiently waiting for its availability in India, the company decided to quietly launch it here.

That’s right, the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 is already available in India and you can grab one right now from Dell’s online store for Rs 1,49,990. According to our sources, the laptop has been quietly sitting on the website since the end of June 2021.

This quiet launch is weird considering the fact that the m15 R5 is Alienware’s first AMD-powered laptop since 2007, and how Alienware’s website had mentioned that this would be the start of a new chapter with AMD. Anyway, we’re at least glad to see the laptop making its way to India, and we can’t wait to have it on our test bench.

Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 Specifications

Dell has listed only one variant of the laptop on its website for the Indian consumers, that too with limited customization options. The Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 comes with a 15.6-inch 1080p display with support for up to 165Hz refresh rate. Unlike the global markets, we see a listing for neither the 1080p 360Hz nor the QHD 240Hz panel here in India.

In terms of internal hardware, the laptop is powered by an AMD Ryzen R7 5800, which is an octa-core CPU with a base clock of 3.2GHz and a max boost clock of up to 4.4GHz. The m15 Ryzen Edition is also Alienware’s first laptop in the country to be powered by the new RTX 30-series laptop GPUs. The website says, the laptop comes with an RTX 3060 GPU but we’ll have to get the unit for testing to see the TGP value.

The Alienware m15 R5 also comes with a 16GB DDR4 memory clocked at 3200Mhz. This can be upgraded post-purchase using the two available SODIMM slots. For storage, we’re looking at 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD. There’s no option to configure the machine to have the ultra-low-profile mechanical keyboard here in India either, so you get the standard mSeries 4-Zone AlienFX RGB keyboard. You also get the Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 802.11ax 2×2 Wireless LAN and Bluetooth 5.2. You can check out the rest of the specifications on the Dell website.

Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 Pricing & Availability

As mentioned earlier, the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition is already available to purchase from Dell’s online store. You can grab one right now for a starting price of Rs 1,49,990. Dell had also launched the G15 Ryzen Edition along with the m15 Ryzen Edition R5 laptop earlier this year, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that to arrive in the country.
