Nintendo Switch – New Pokémon Snap sales have surpassed 2 million units
Nintendo has released its latest financial report, detailing the Japanese company’s software and hardware results for the past quarter. In the Consolidated Operating Results section, Nintendo revealed that New Pokémon Snap, the sequel to the 1999 Nintendo 64 classic, has reached 2.07 million units in sales. According to Joe Merrick, webmaster of major Pokémon fan site Serebii, New Pokémon Snap is likely the bestselling Pokémon spin-off since 2008’s Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia for Nintendo DS.
From the sales numbers we have, it seems this is the best selling Pokémon spin-off title (non-Free to Play) since Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia in 2008. Though it’s worth noting figures aren’t necessarily complete, just most recently reported

New Pokémon Snap launched on April 30, and in our review, we praised its gorgeous visuals, quality-of-life features, and replay value. Aside from New Pokémon Snap sales, the Nintendo financial report also delves into the incredible totals of Nintendo Switch hardware and software sold. The hybrid console is on track to surpass the lifetime sales of the Wii, which is currently sitting at 101.63 million units sold worldwide. Just like with the Wii, the big N has capitalized on a variety of accessible titles, designed to be played by all ages.
