PS5 – Sony Quickly Pulls God of War Ad Containing Upside-Down PS5
If you want to use a PS5 in a horizontal orientation it’s important to remember the disc drive should be closer to the bottom than the top (below the black central section not above it), but that’s not obvious and even official ads for games get it wrong.
As Eurogamer reports, one such ad has quickly been pulled by Sony after viewers noticed the PS5 had been positioned upside down underneath the TV. This obviously caused quite a bit of amusement online and even though Sony has pulled the ad, no official comment has been made.
Unfortunately, Sony’s deletion of the ad has been extremely thorough so there’s no way to watch it anymore, but with this being the internet someone always manages to capture a screenshot as you can see above. It just proves that even the professionals get it wrong, but also that Sony didn’t do a great job of making it clear which way around its latest console is meant to go when horizontal.
This isn’t the first time the PS5 has been incorrectly setup by someone who really should know better. As Kotaku reported back in December, Herman Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios, tweeted a short video of his cat attacking the TV while he played Bugsnax. But Hulst’s PS5 was also horizontal and upside down.
