xbox Series X – Replaced Dev Praises Xbox For ‘Actually Caring About The Indie Market’
The team behind the retro-futuristic 2.5D platformer Replaced, which is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S via Game Pass in 2022, has heavily praised Microsoft for “actually caring about the indie market”.
In an interview with Twinfinite, Sad Cat Studios co-founder Igor Gritsay explained that the team at Xbox “really gives a chance to small studios to actually produce something and provide marketing awareness to people.”
“The biggest part of the partnership for us is that Microsoft actually cares about the indie market. Otherwise, well, there would be much fewer games on all platforms. They really give a chance to small studios to actually produce something and provide marketing awareness to people.
I would say that for indie studios, I can’t even think of a con (with partnering with Microsoft) because they provide funding and marketing reach.”
Gritsay also went on to enthuse about Xbox Game Pass, pointing out the obvious benefit that it “allows us and many other developers to actually deliver our project to people”, calling Replaced’s inclusion a “win, win situation for us”.
In regards to Replaced itself, you can look forward to a “modernised cinematic platformer set in an alternative ‘80s where you play as R.E.A.C.H, an AI trapped in a human body against its will”. Check out the trailer below:
