Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Appears To Be Getting Optimised For Xbox Series X & Series S

Here’s a weird one! Shadow of the Tomb Raider has suddenly appeared as ‘optimised for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S’ on the Microsoft Store, despite receiving a noteworthy FPS Boost a couple of months ago.

Various members of the Tomb Raider community have spotted the tag on the Microsoft Store, although based on experiences so far, any potential next-gen optimisations don’t appear to have gone live as of yet.

Shadow of the tomb raider just got series x enhancement from
TombRaider

Nothing has been said officially about this just yet, and we’re intrigued to know what might have been changed, as the game already runs at 3584×2016 on Series X with a frame rate of 60fps thanks to the FPS Boost program.

Perhaps Shadow of the Tomb Raider will benefit from some lighting improvements, or maybe the development team has implemented an upgrade to make the frame rate more solid, as Digital Foundry reported back in May that “there are some performance drops and some high intensity sequences can drop into the 50s and even the late 40s”, with the issues stemming from the game running in backwards compatibility mode.

What do you want to see from Shadow of the Tomb Raider for Xbox Series X & Series S? Tell us below.
